Style that Travels

Wow, it has been so long since I last posted a blog, where does the time go?! It feels pretty great to be back. I have been pretty busy these last few weeks, between starting a new job, working my Mary Kay business, and getting ready for SEMINAR! I am so stinking excited I can hardly contain myself. Seminar is a massive conference that Mary Kay holds at the end of our fiscal year. I've never been before, so I have no idea what to expect. I'm sure there will be lots of training, recognition, and prizes. I'm so excited for the opportunity to go on this trip and I can't wait to see whats in store! Don't worry, I'll keep you updated on my social media channels as much as I can. So for today's blog I decided to share some of the outfits I put together for this upcoming trip. I chose three outfits that I'm taking for three different occasions that will be happening during the week. Let me know which outfit is your favorite!

Outfit 1

You can find it here: Madewell Stitchtake Dress
Okay, the first outfit I'm going to show you is one of my favorites. I am in love with this embroidered shift dress. It is such a versatile dress because it can be worn in so many different ways. I chose to pair it with a chunky heel, and big ear rings. My sister wore this with a pair of brown leather sandals, and stud ear rings, and it looked just as adorable casual, as it did dressed up. I haven't fully decided which event I am going to wear this to on the trip, but we do get to tour headquarters at Mary Kay so I'm thinking this might be a good go-to outfit for that event. The shoes I chose are comfortable enough to do a lot of walking in (thanks to the chunky heel), and the dress is just as comfortable, while still being classy. I'm just in love with this outfit combination and I cannot wait to wear it.

Outfit 2

Find the top here: francescas printed tank

I'm pretty excited about this look because it means I'm on my way to learn a ton from some amazing Mary Kay leaders. Since I ended the year as a Red Jacket (meaning I had 3 or more active team members) I get to wear my lovely red jacket to seminar. I adore a classic black pencil skirt, they have so many uses, and they go with almost everything. I bought this pencil skirt from a Jcrew wear house sale, but you can find a similar one pretty much anywhere. Okay, but forreal, I am totally and completely in love with this top. I bought this at francesca's and they still have it for sale on their website (you're welcome). I adore the high neckline, and the pattern is to die for. It looks fantastic under my red jacket and it definitely adds a pop to an otherwise print-less outfit. I also love a pointed toe high heel. I bought mine at Target last fall. They are a nude/tan color and go with everything, and I mean everything. The pointed toe makes my legs look longer, and also adds some class to the outfit. It's definitely my favorite business outfit that I am taking that week. I'm getting more and more excited about my upcoming week just thinking about it and writing this post.

Outfit 3

The final outfit on today's blog post is one of my favorites. This is one of the casual outfits that I am taking for one of the nights out. I figured this was the perfect outfit for a night of shopping and dining. It's one of the most comfortable outfits that I own and I LOVE mixing prints. A stripe and floral print is probably my favorite combination of prints. I think it looks so fun and trendy. I chose a brown leather sandal since it was for a more casual night. I bought this dress at TJ Maxx a couple months ago, and I bought the Kimono at Wet Seal last year before they left our local mall. My shoes are from Target and I picked them up at the beginning of the summer. They have been my go-to shoe for everything. I wear them ALL the time, because they pretty much match everything I put on, Definitely my favorite pair of shoes this summer. I love the casual comfort of this outfit. It's easy but still put together. Yay for casual nights and comfortable dresses.

I am so excited for this next week. I absolutely cannot wait to see what is waiting for us when we arrive. SO ready for a week with my Mary Kay family! Keep checking my social media for updates and different outfits! There will be lots of looks, let me know your favorites of the week!

Much love! xoxox

10 fashion rules that need to be broken now

I'm going to let you in on a little secret: Not every fashion rule should be followed. Honestly, a lot of them need to be forgotten completely. Don't be afraid to push the boundaries with you style, these rules were just asking to be demolished.

10 fashion rules you should be breaking right now:

1. Don't wear white after Labor day.
This kills me every time I hear it. Who even made up the dumb rule and why do they have the power to tell me I can't wear white after September 7th? Well, whoever they were, they were way wrong. White can TOTALLY be worn after labor day. White pants were a huge trend last winter, and I'm gonna go ahead and take a guess that they will still be on trend this winter as well, maybe just styled a little differently. So go ahead and wear that white maxi dress, hey, add a blazer if it's a bit chilly, and go live your life in your white clothes.  Don't listen to the kind of people that tell you that you can't wear white after labor day, you don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

2. Don't wear white shoes after Labor Day.
For Pete's sake, DON'T LISTEN TO THE NEGATIVE PEOPLE WHO GIVE YOU THIS UNWANTED ADVICE. I don't even know who Pete is, but for his sake, please, if you want to wear your white shoes on September 8th, then go ahead, wear those white shoes and don't let anybody tell you differently.

3. You can't mix prints.
Okay, so this I guess I can understand. You could say that mixing prints is a fashion don't because it can be difficult to figure out which patterns can mix without making you look like a clown. Lately though, mixing prints is a major trend. My personal favorite is a horizontal stripped shirt with a floral skirt. Totally in love with that look. There are a lot of others ways to mix prints that look good together. My favorite place to get ideas of prints that go with each other is Pinterest. Seriously, so many pictures and ideas that your bound to find some sort of print matching that you like. Try it.

4. Brown and Black don't match.
Wrong. So totally wrong. I LOVE brown and black together. I wear the two colors together almost on a daily basis. Brown and black not matching is a thing of the past, it matches, you can wear the two together. Black is a neural color so it goes with ANY color. Black and brown can also be considered earth tones, which means that they can go together. I love wearing my black maxi dress with my brown leather braided belt and a cute pair of brown wedges. The fashion police aren't going to come after you with guns blazing because you wore black and brown together. So next time you skip over your brown belt because you're black pants, think again and remember that it works.

5. Denim on Denim is a no-no.
This one's actually pretty funny because I wore a denim shirt with denim shorts this past weekend. Denim on denim is a pretty big trend as of late. Denim shirts with dark denim jeans, or a jean jacket with a pair of jean shorts, its happening, and it actually looks really good. I am a huge fan of this trend. Of course, it has to be done right, so keep it classy and simple. Add a cute wedge, or a fun jacket to break up the look a little. Remember, Pinterest is your best friend in this situations.

6. Your handbag has to match your shoes or belt.
Your handbag absolutely does not have to match your shoes and belts.. If I tried to match my purse to my shoes and belts with every outfit I would need to go shopping for some new bags. In all honesty, I think it looks overdone and tacky when everything matches like that. Throw some variety in there! Wear those red shoes and rock that pink purse at the same time! You'll look fabulous instead of looking like you're trying a bit too hard.

7. Sequins and Metallic are only for night or holidays.
I love sparkles and sequins and anything that shines. If we were limited to wearing sparkly shirts and skirts to the holiday season, or a club, the world would be a very sad place! Sequins can be rocked in a pencil skirt with a neutral top , or a metallic pant with a pointy-toe heel would look so fabulous, even in the office. Just remember to make the sparkles more casual, and bring balance to the outfit with a neutral piece!

8. Shorts are only for the summer.
Believe it or not, shorts can be worn in the fall and winter, and look absolutely awesome. Throw on a pair of tights, patterned or plain, a great sweater with a jacket, and a pair of boots, and you have got yourself one heck of an outfit. I love the look of tights under a pair of shorts, its edgy but still approachable and fun. Tights under a romper are totally incredible too, just so you know.

9. You can't combine silver and gold jewelry.
Who said? Silver and gold look phenomenal together. I think that the two metals compliment each other and give added depth to the outfit. Life would be boring if we always stuck with one choice and never mixed any colors or accessories. Don't be afraid to play around with your jewelry, silver and gold look awesome together. If you don't believe me, check out Pinterest, it has plenty of examples.

10. When it comes to jewelry, less is more.
I love lots of jewelry. Multiples rings, bracelets, necklaces, earrings all one at once look fabulous to me. I love bling, so lots of it is super exciting. Layered necklaces are a big thing right now, as well as layered rings, earrings, and pretty much any other type of jewelry you can think of. The more jewelry there is, the more on trend you are. Again, don't be afraid to try new things and layer some necklaces or rings, they won't make you look ugly, you'll actually look pretty great.

So go ahead and be a rebel. I encourage you to actually, just because someone once said it was a rule doesn't mean you have to follow it. You just have to remember, that sometimes, rules were made to be broken.

Loveable Lashes

Today, as I was showing a dear friend some of our new products from Mary Kay, we got into a conversation about mascara, and how annoying it is when your lashes clump and stick together. It has got to be one of the most annoying things about eye make up. Thankfully, there is a fix! Mary Kay has this AMAZING product that clears those clumps, and leaves your lashes looking flawless. This lash primer is my eyelash BFF. I love the way it leaves my lashes looking, no more clumps! Don't believe me? Well that's okay because I'm about to show you how amazing this product is.

Okay, so these are my natural lashes, no mascara, or mascara primer. Just my plain ol' lashes. The rest of my make up is finished, so lashes are my last step, and my favorite step. I feel that it completely brings the whole look together. I just don't feel right without it. So, the first step before priming your lashes would be to curl them! Mine are already curly, so I typically don't need to curl them, only if I'm feel extra sassy of course
.

The first step after curling, is using the oh so fabulous lash primer, with one layer of lash love mascara. I use two different types of mascara, the first being lash love because I love the brush, and the second being the Ultimate mascara.  The lash love has a super thin brush which helps with spacing out the lashes. So, I took a picture after I have on both the lash primer and lash love mascara, because you couldn't see the lash primer on my lashes (it's a clear gel).

The final step is applying the top coat of the Ultimate mascara. I love the extra drama it gives my lashes. Length, definition, fullness, and no clumps! Seriously, I could not brag on this product more. Not only is it super easy to use, I mean all you have to do is apply one coat of lash primer, and then a couple coats of mascara, but it also creates a fuller, more dramatic look for your eyelashes. I use my lash primer every day, and I'm always satisfied with the way my lashes turn out. So there you have it, the final look. All three coats have been applied and I am finished! I love my lashes, and I LOVE my lash primer.

I would definitely recommend giving lash primer a try, especially if you're going for a more dramatic look, or your lashes are not as long or as full as you'd like them to be. This stuff works, and you apply it like you apply mascara so you don't have to learn any new techniques or try to figure out how to apply it. You're already use to how it is applied! I love my lash primer and I can't even imagine doing my make up without it. Trust me, you can do it!

Also, Happy National Donut Day!! A day like this calls for a celebration with lots of delicious donuts and pretty products! Excuse me, but I believe I hear some yummy donuts calling my name.

Refashioned Fabulous

Rainy days are the perfect opportunity to spend all day indoors shopping. So that is exactly what I decided to spend my rainy day doing. I guess it turned out to be a little more than just a shopping trip, but hey, a little photo-shoot in the rain with these gorgeous models didn't hurt anything either. What else were going to spend our day doing? Absolutely nothing, that's why I grabbed these pretty ladies and headed down to Salvaged. Ya know, just to see what kind of fun things we could find along the way. I am so thankful these girls spent their afternoon trying on different outfits, listening to my crazy rants about nothing in particular, and modeling in the rain for me.

These girls are so beautiful and they look so great in these hot outfits from Salvaged. I had so much fun rummaging through racks, and scrounging around the store to find the perfect accessories with them. It's so much more fun picking out trendy outfits when you have a little help. So, as you may have guessed, all of the pieces in the pictures below are from Salvaged Consignment. Amazing, I know. They have the best selection of adorable pieces for the best price. I mean you really can't beat $10.00 for a pair of super cute pumps.

Kaitlyns outfit is simple, classic, and beautiful. I can't get over this black peplum dress. I think the scoop neck is flawless, and the pencil skirt pulls the entire dress together. Kaitlyn actually chose the necklace, and she seriously did an amazing job. I love how the sparkle adds a pop to the otherwise dark outfit.   This necklace gives the outfit a classier, more dressed up look. Many other accessories could be added to change the mood of the ensemble. We chose a nude pump to give a classier, more dressed up feel. I love a good nude pump. They go with everything, and I literally mean everything. This cute little look would be perfect for a date night on the town with your prince charming. Kaitlyn looks absolutely stunning, she pulls off the simple, classic look beautifully.

Seriously love this beautiful sparkly necklace.

Kaitlyns makeup is also looking simple and beautiful as well. We stayed very natural with her products, using mineral powder, light blush, golden and brown eye colors and a dash of mascara. She is obviously stunning, so it doesn't take much for her to look absolutely flawless. Of course we used Mary Kay products, (only the best). On her eyes we used driftwood, french roast, and moonstone, all of which are from the mineral shadow collection. Her super long lashes are given dimension and length from using her Ultimate mascara, I can't tell you how many people assume she is wearing false lashes. Her eyelashes are PERFECT. I'm slightly jealous, if you can't already tell. Kaitlyn is positively darling in this classy, yet slightly sassy outfit.

My next model is unquestionably ravishing. I had so much fun dressing her up, and I'm so grateful she was so willing and excited to let me! Since we did a more classic and dressed up look with Kaitlyn, we decided to go for a more casual look with Becca. She can pretty much pull of anything, so finding something was not difficult! We chose a simple, high to low, cream top. I didn't get a picture of the back, but it was gorgeous. I love high to low shirts, super adorable, and perfect for leggings. It looks perfect with this look as well. We added some color to the top of her outfit with a pink and purple beaded necklace. It was the perfect size to add a small pop that didn't over shadow the entire outfit, it kept it casual. For jeans we chose a cropped dark wash which were originally from Gap. They were the perfect fit for Becca, looking positively marvelous on her.

I cannot even begin to tell you how much I adore these shoes. I seriously cannot get enough of them. They are so bright, and so fun. I mean, there is no way you couldn't feel fabulous in them. I love that they incorporate three different colors, but still look incredible. I think they are absolutely perfect for summer. They're pretty versatile as well, I mean they do have three different colors in them, so you have a variety to chose from. I actually love these shoes so much, that I couldn't leave the store without them. I broke down and purchased these bad boys, and I cannot wait to wear them. They look AMAZING on Becca, but then again, everything does.

LOVE this hidden pop of color in her belt!

Beccas lip color is my all time favorite; Razzleberry cheek and lip duo from Mary Kay of course!

I love that Becca is rocking a bold lip here. The color seriously matched perfectly with her shoes, I mean that doesn't just happen. These colors were made for Becca. They compliment her so well, she looks incredible. For her eye make up, I chose rosegold, french roast, and moonstone eye shadow, with a black liquid eyeliner. I love the more neutral soft eye colors with a bold lip. They seem to balance each other nicely. I also got to use the mineral cheek duo in the color Juicy Guava, I am so in love with the the mineral cheek duo, because as you know, it comes with a mineral highlighter and that is my all time fave. So happy I could mix that into her look!

I'm so grateful for my breathtaking models! They made each outfit look so flawless and easy. Rainy days aren't so bad after all.

Daily Skin Care Routine

Since my last blog post was about my person make up collection, I decided to show you my skin care routine this time. I use the Botanical #2 Collection from Mary Kay (obviously).

I've never really enjoyed washing my face. I've always thought of it as more of a chore than something to do for relaxation or pleasure. I never had any major acne break outs, honestly my face has always been pretty clear aside from a few black heads and maybe your occasional zit. So as you can imagine, I never felt the need to stick to a routine facial regimen. That all changed when I joined Mary Kay. I learned the importance of daily cleansing and moisturizing. I mean, lets be real, how is your make up supposed to look good if your skin doesn't look good? Artists don't paint on a dirty canvas, so why would we try to do that to our faces?

I started using Mary Kay's Botanical set, and let me tell you I absolutely LOVE it. I seriously did not think that  I would wake up and look forward to washing my face. Complete madness, I tell you. But, the verdict remains, I now love to wash my face. I feel so refreshed, and my skin feels so much healthier.

So the Botanical #2 set that I use is designed for normal skin. Which basically just means you aren't overly dry or overly oily. My face does tend to be more on the dry side, but I've had great results using the normal set! This collection uses natural ingredients such as Momordica Grosvenorii Fruit Extract (also known as monks fruit), this ingredient protects the skin from free radicals, Silybum Marianum Fruit Extract (Milk Thistle or Saint Marys thistle), this ingredient has a soothing agent known for its calming effects, Nymphaea Gigantea Flower Extract (giant water lily) this ingredient has antioxidants and a conditioner to treat the skin, and Plumeria Alba Flower Extract (also know as the Pagoda Tree), this has soothing agents, antioxidants, and a conditioner as well. Mary Kay gives us so many tools to help us learn what goes into to each of our products!

The first two steps are so invigorating. Obviously Cleanse is the first step. I use my Skinvigorate cleansing brush to get a deeper, cleaner feel. The cleanser is very light and feels very natural. I love that I can get such a deep clean with such a light cleanser. My faces always feels so pure after I use it. The next step would be to use the mask. I try to use this about once or twice a week. I put a thick layer of the mask over my face and allow it to dry for about 10 minutes. I love this product because it doesn't get super dry and cracked like most masks do. Once I have removed the mask after the allotted time, my skin feels so much softer than it did before. Taking off that layer of dead skin really makes a difference.

The last two steps are probably my favorite steps. Freshen is probably the best step out of them all. So, let me tell you why this product is so amazing. It comes in this bottle that sprays out this fantastic mist. I typically use a cotton round to spray the product onto before applying it to my face. So I then take the cotton round and just rub it all over my face, and it is the most soothing product I've ever used. It feels so cool and refreshing, it was basically made for summer. But seriously, my face feels so clean and so amazing. I don't know if I'll ever be able to part from this step. It also is great for sunburns. I honestly felt that it was more soothing on my sun burnt face than aloe-Vera. So, now that my face feels so clean and soft and refreshed, I apply my moisturizer and it is the perfect ending to my regimen.

I now enjoy washing my face, just so I can use these beautiful products. They allow my skin to feel and look healthier. Your make up routine doesn't start with color, it starts with an amazing cleansing routine. A clean canvas is a happy canvas! I hope that each of you have as much of an enjoyable skin care routine as I do, and if you don't, call up your favorite Mary Kay consultant and try some of the amazing products for yourself!

My Personal Make-up Collection

Today I decided to give a little tour of my personal make-up collection. Of course, this isn't everything that I have. Most of what is shown is just what I've been using on a daily basis more recently. Ya'll, I love make-up. I love experimenting with different colors, and tricks. I may not be a pro, but believe me, by the time I'm finished watching random tutorials I find online, I'll be a natural.

After cleansing my face, these are my first and favorite go to products. I adore foundations. I love that they give a flawless finish to my freckly, red face. So, I start with my foundation primer, which is basically the foundation of the foundations. Mary Kay's foundation primer fills in all of my pores giving my skin a younger look, while also allowing my foundation to last ALL DAY. It's pretty amazing. My next step is CC Cream. Color Correction cream is a tinted moisturizer, great for creating a more even skin tone. My last step is to apply my Timewise Matte-wear liquid foundation in the shade Ivory 7. I love the look the matte-wear gives me, and I absolutely love the feeling it leaves on my skin. I can hardly tell I'm even wearing foundation and I've applied three liquids. Talk about wonderful.

Now that my face looks and feels flawless, I add the finishing touches to the foundation look. I add bronzer under my cheek bones and lightly contour my face. It just adds a little bit of a glow. Lately, I've been playing with Mary Kay's new cheek duos, and they are awesome. The one pictured is called Ripe Watermelon, and its the perfect pop of pink. I love that these products are blush and a mineral highlighter. Mineral highlighter is bae.

A flawless face can't be completed without some flawless eye colors. I experiment with my eye colors a lot, so you might find me wearing different colors every day. Although, for the past couple of months I have been in love with the mineral eye color Rosegold. It's a golden sparkly brown and it is beautiful. Rosegold is in the picture above, it's the only one that has a place worn out because I've used it so much. I have Moonstone, Sweet Plum, Rosegold, and French Roast pictured as the mineral eye colors., and I love each one. They can all be played with to be dramatic or simple, and that is my favorite part about the mineral eye colors.  I added a cream eye color because I love to use them as eye primers. The color in the picture is Metallic Taupe and it looks gorgeous under purple eye shadows, although I typically use Beach Blond as my go to eye primer.

Mascara cannot be forgotten. If I had to chose only two makeup products to live off of, I would chose my timewise matte-wear foundation, and ultimate mascara. Mascara is SO important. Leaving the house without mascara, is like leaving the house without pants. You just don't do it. I just have to brag on the eye lash primer, its the white tube kind of hidden behind the lash love mascara. This product is a miracle. It leaves my mascara clump-less, and adds loads of length. I apply one coat of my lash love I <3 black mascara after my eyelash primer, and then top it off with a layer or two of my ultimate black mascara. If you love a falsies look, then I definitely recommend trying these products together. Your eyelashes will thank you. Trust me.

Last but not least is lipstick. I never knew that lipstick could be so powerful. Its almost as if my confidence boosts about 10 points just by picking up the tube.  I have a few different shades shown off in the picture, such as Subtly You, LavaBerry, and Berry a la Mode. Each of the shades shown are Mary Kay's True Dimension line. (Obviously my favorite line, since that is all I own) My personal favorite lipstick is the color lavaberry. I may have mentioned this in a previous post, but ya'll it is seriously the perfect color. If I'm having a rough day, I just apply my lavaberry lipstick, lift my chin a little higher, and remember that life goes on. I'm always so impressed how the same lipstick can look so different depending on the person wearing it. I love to use one lipstick a party and have all the guests try it, just to see how diverse the shades are. It's pretty amazing. Lipstick is an amazing tool that just makes a woman feel pretty and strong. At least, that's how it works for me.

There you have it, a little sneak peak at some of the products that I use every day. Make-up is so much fun and I absolutely love the products that I put on my face and the company that makes them. I'm sure my collection will continue to grow as seasons change, and newer products are revealed, but for now this is satisfying.

Out of the Blue

Lately I've been wearing nothing but dresses. I don't know if this has to do with the fact that I now sell Mary Kay and I enjoy dressing up for my business, or the fact that dresses bring comfort and class into one easy outfit. Whatever the reason, dresses have been my go-to outfit ever since spring rolled around. As you can imagine, I've done quite a bit of shopping with my focus centered on the latest and greatest styles that are out for summer. Honestly, I haven't been too impressed. This could be the fact that there is no where (and I mean absolutely no where) to shop where I live, but even then, nothing online has made me too excited either. So I decided to check out Salvaged (again, because I just love them that much) and was happily surprised to find quite a large collection of dresses. The collection was not disappointing, I had at least as much success at a local consignment store, than I had at all of the retail stores I had visited. While I was there I put together a cute little sundress that was perfect for a night out to dinner and a movie with your special someone, or an outdoor event, such as a graduation, or a casual wedding.
This outfit is super easy and versatile. For some extra sass you could pair an adorable pair of wedges with it, or if you'd like to jazz it up for a wedding you could add a nude pump. I was in love with the necklace that I chose. It was a multi-strand gold chain, with little teal beads sporadically placed throughout the necklace. It took everything in me, not to break down and buy it right then. The make up I chose for this outfit was simple but on the dressier side. I chose the new Out of the Blue mineral eye trio from Mary Kay's at play collection, their black gel liner, time-wise matte foundation of course, strawberry cream blush, and a creme lipstick in the color shell with our new beauty that counts berry and pink lip-gloss. I am in so in love with this Out of the Blue eye trio. I recently held a party and had some of my beautiful clients try it, oh boy they looked absolutely stunning. It's the perfect pop of color. I chose the gel eyeliner because it is the easiest to play around with to create the perfect winged eyeliner. I mean this outfit just NEEDS winged liner. Ya'll, I am so excited about this beauty that counts Nourishine lip-gloss. Every time one of these lip-glosses are purchased, Mary Kay will donate a portion of the funds to their Mary Kay Foundation to help woman and children, and it's support of women's shelters and survivors of abuse. I LOVE that Mary Kay is committed to help end domestic violence. I am so honored to work for a company that truly cares about women.
All in all, this is an adorably easy outfit and you can find each piece here locally at Salvaged, and you can find the make up on my personal website or with your personal beauty consultant. I love how versatile this dress can be, it can be worn to almost any function with the addition or subtraction of a few accessories. I would love to hear how you would accessorize this fabulous attire to fit in your life! Leave a comment below and let me know!

Second Chance Sass.

Yesterday, I had the fabulous privilege of visiting one of my all time favorite consignment shops known as Salvaged. The shop is absolutely delightful, and honestly it is more like a boutique than  a consignment shop. They have on trend items that come at an amazing price. I could keep bragging on them, but I think you get the point. So, during my visit yesterday I decided to put together a few chic outfits that work perfect for summer. The best part? Each item is under $20. Talk about a steal! Along with each outfit looking absolutely marvelous, I put together a super sharp make up look. I'll have you looking breathtaking from head to toe. With no further ado, I will introduce the first look.

Our first look is an on trend, easy going outfit perfect for any summer day spent frolicking around town. It pulls together the perfect mixture of classy and casual. Remember, I found this entire ensemble at Salvaged. I could just drool over these high-waist, animal print, absolutely thrilling shorts all day long. They provide the perfect mixture of comfort and style. You could rock so many different looks with these shorts, this is just one of many! Seriously, they could not get any cuter. Now, let's talk about this to die for top. It is sassy, classy, and absolutely magnificent. This top can be dressed up or down, depending on the occasion. It's has a nice flow, and the fit of the shirt is gorgeous. I decided to add a little pop of color, so the necklace pictured has baby blue beads. Of course, you can jazz the jewelry up or down. Accessories are my favorite, they can take a drab outfit and make it spectacular. This whole get up took about ten minutes to put together. Great for an on the go girl.

The make up pictured is on trend and up to date. I molded the makeup around the color and pattern of the shorts. These Mineral Eye Colors from Mary Kay are absolute perfection. They go on the eye so smoothly, and are so vibrant and full of color. For this look I chose Sweet Plum, Lime, and Moonstone. I wanted to match the Mineral Eye Colors with the different purple and green shades in the shorts. I think the eyes will compliment the shorts completely. Of course, no make up look can be completed without a mascara, eye liner, and lip color. I chose Mary Kay's Ultimate mascara to give a bolder look to the mineral eye colors. I went with a deep brown eye liner so that the color would not overtake the entire look. (I just want to brag on Mary Kay's eyeliner for a second. It is the smoothest, most amazing eyeliner I have ever tried. It goes on bold and dark, and does not smudge or run a bit. It lasts all day and looks flawless. Definitely one of my favorite products.) I chose one of Mary Kay's True Dimensions lipsticks in the color Lavaberry. My all time favorite lipstick, I pretty much wear it every day. It goes on lighter than a cream lipstick, and looks more natural. It's beautiful and compliments the purple in the shorts, and the Sweet Plum Mineral Eye color. Last but of course not least, I chose the Timewise Luminous foundation and the mineral cheek color in Bold Berry. The foundation is the perfect amount of coverage, and you can't even tell its on your face. It has anti aging ingredients as well, so it's the perfect base. I chose Bold Berry for the mineral cheek color because it gives a natural glow around the cheek bones. Perfect for today's look.

This was such an easy outfit to put together and I had so much fun planning out all the details. This look can be worn on the town shopping, or lounging in your favorite coffee shop. It's versatile and absolutely adorable.   If you're interested in any of the pieces that are shown,  be sure to check out Salvaged before it's all gone!

Brand New Beginnings

Well, here goes nothing.

I have never really been the type to express my thoughts and various activities to the internet. I'm more of a sit down with a cup of coffee and pour my feelings into a journal that no one will ever look at kind of girl. So this journey may be bumpy at first, but bear with me while I figure out this massive world of blogging.

I guess I'll start with a little bit about me. My name is Meaghan Suzanne, I'm currently 19 years old, and I grew up in a very small town outside of a slightly bigger, but still pretty small town. I have amazing parents, pretty great siblings, and a super hunky boyfriend. I am redeemed and find new grace and mercy daily because of my amazing Savior. I have a passion for all things fashion, and I'm starting to try my hand in the world of make up. I recently started my own business with Mary Kay and I LOVE what I do. I could not ask for a better job or a better support system. Love my Mary Kay ladies. I also like adventure, especially when it's spontaneous. I love the beach and firmly believe that I was born to be a mermaid (okay, that may be pushing things a little far, but I really do love the ocean). All in all, I have an amazing life, and I am so beyond blessed and so incredibly thankful for all the beautiful people in my life.

So since this blog is an introduction of me, I decided to have some fun and find some completely random questions that will give you a more intimate look into the life of Meaghan, so here we go:

1. What animal scares you the most? Why?
Oh man, I would probably have to go with monkeys. I am absolutely terrified of monkeys. They are evil little creatures that fling poop at you, and then laugh that annoying spine tingling laugh. They also are quite violent...you know what I mean if you've heard of the lady that lost her face because of a monkey. Goodness, monkeys are terrifying.

2. Are you high maintenance? Explain.
I think the answer to this question depends on who you ask and their definition of high maintenance. My mother and siblings probably strongly hold the belief that I am indeed high maintenance. Ask my sweetheart of a boyfriend and he would say that I am not high maintenance (granted, he may just be saying this to stay on my good side, but I'll take it). I mean, I may get upset if my boyfriend doesn't pay attention to me, or my outfit doesn't look right, but wouldn't we all...?

3. If you could go anywhere in the world right now, where would you go?
Paris. I have been in love with the idea of Paris for years. The Eiffel Tower is a major theme in my life. I have way too many Eiffel Tower statues decorating my room, I have key chains and necklaces, and notebooks, pictures and yes, even clothes. I LOVE Paris ya'll.  It's on my bucket list, so when the day comes for my time in Paris, you better believe the whole world will know.

4. What does your favorite outfit consist of?
This question is a slightly difficult for me, because I don't just have one favorite outfit. I have so many its almost impossible to answer this. For the sake of this questionnaire though, I would have to stay my favorite outfit at the time, consists of a cute little shift dress, maybe a statement necklace, an adorable pair of wedges, and a clutch or small bag. That has been my outfit of choice recently and honestly it looks a lot like the picture below. I can't tell you how much I am loving hats right now. These wide brimmed floppy hats are SO adorable and look good on almost anyone. Definitely a must have for summer. As I was saying before, this would definitely be my go to summer outfit. Easy and classic.
So there you have it, a little bit about me and my first blog post. I think I'll go celebrate with a cup of coffee and a cupcake. Can't ever go wrong there!
